Happy Halloweekend!

This post is waaay late, but the crazy retail world has left me little free time, add that to a slow computer & I've gotten behind on our blog. I'll try to catch up! Our Halloween weekend started off Friday night at Johnny's mom & dad's house. We ate dinner and carved our pumpkins. It's a tradition that we kind of have a competition on whose is the best. I think Laura's was the winner this year! Saturday we cleaned the house and got ready for our party on Sunday. Halloween night we had family over, everyone was excited to see Avery in her costume. Mike, Marcia and Connor stopped by on their way to their family's get together. The kids were cute in their costumes together! Our neighborhood gets a little crazy on Halloween, everyone decorates their driveways, sets up tables and firepits and hands out candy and treats all night! It was a lot of fun! I can't wait til next year when Avery's a little bigger!

Avery wanted to get out of her carseat herself when she got to Grandma & Grandpa's! This picture cracks me up!

Enjoying her new walker Grandma got her!

Grandpa's Halloween tree

Our little Dorothy! She was so cute, I must say! She loved her Toto although she wanted to chew on him all night!

She obviously couldn't wait to get out of this pose! Johnny's face says it all, "Hurry up and take the picture!"

She was infatuated with her ruby slippers. A girl loves her shoes!

Our candy corn tree, you can't tell unless you're up close, but I thought they were cute! I was never really into decorating for Halloween, but now with Avery it's so much more fun to decorate for every holiday! I don't know if Johnny thinks it's as fun as I do! :)

Our pumpkins, Avery's is in front, a little ghost with a bow of course! :)

Laura's pumpkin was the third one back. It was a scary tree, it was really cool!

Align Center"Avery, can't you sit still like me?" "They're trying to take our picture!"

Kevin's first time holding a baby! He looks like a natural!

Avery fell asleep on Cousin Lauren after a long day & night. Lauren did a great job of putting Avery to bed that night!

5 Months Old!!!

I am five months old today! I weigh approximately 16 lbs. and am 26.5 inches long. (these are mommy's estimates) I am a happy girl and am ALWAYS smiling! I smile at everyone, even people I don't know! I have started to eat solid foods, my favorites so far are sweet potatoes, carrots, apples and especially pears! Now as for peas...no thank you! (mommy and daddy don't like peas either so hopefully I won't have to eat too many of them in the future!) I am rolling over constantly. If you put me down on my back I will roll over to my tummy immediately. When I'm on my tummy I hold my arms out like I'm superwoman. Everyone thinks this is funny! I just can't understand why I'm not going anywhere! I am starting to sit up a little bit on my own, I have to have someone to back me up or else I'll tumble over. My hand eye coordination is really good. I like to play in my exersaucer, but not for a long period of time, I get bored! I am sleeping through the night for the most part, mommy and daddy are REALLY happy about that! My latest thing is a game I like to play with my burpcloth. If you hold it over me I'll grab it and put it over my face then I get really excited when you pull it off and say "there she is!"

Grandma's 80th Birthday!

Two weekends ago we celebrated my Grandma Melba's 80th birthday. We went to brunch at the Blue Owl in Kimmswick. Afterwards, we went back to my Grandma Ruth's apartment to visit. Both of my grandma's live at the same senior apartment complex which I think is funny and cute!

Pumpkin Patch!

We took Avery to the pumpkin patch at Stuckmeyers Farm today. The weather was perfect for a day outside! There is so much to do there, but Avery is too little yet so we'll have to take her back next year. We walked around the market, picked out our pumpkins and went on a hayride. Avery was such a good girl the whole time, she really enjoys being outside. We had a great time and will definitely make this a tradition!

Miss Avery was excited to go!

Avery and Lucy...Buddies

Our family has two dogs, or should I say my parents have two other "children" other than my brother Luke and I, Abby a chocolate lab and Lucy a yellow lab. Last Sunday we went over to my parents' house for my Dad's birthday. Avery was sooo curious about Lucy. She's just now starting to notice the dogs and smiles and laughs at them, it's so funny! Lucy absolutely LOVES Avery, she is always by her side and if Avery starts crying Lucy will whimper right along with her and has to go see what's wrong with her. Now Abby on the other hand is old and cranky and could care less about anyone else, except for my dad, but we love her anyway! Avery was reaching out for Lucy, it was so cute!

Avery "petting" Lucy and Lucy getting a good lick on her fingers

We're gonna have to get Avery her own puppy someday! ...or would it be more for Mommy! :)
