Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving started off with brunch at my inlaws' house. We enjoyed the morning spending time with family and eating yummy food. We then headed to my parents' house for lunch/early dinner. We ate, relaxed and were entertained by Miss Avery of course. We spent the evening at Johnny's Grandma and Grandpa's house. We ate some more and Avery got to play with not one, not two, but THREE doggies! We missed seeing Johnny's cousin Lauren and her new fiance Kevin. They got engaged the night before, CONGRATS Lauren and Kevin!!! Thanksgiving was a long but fun day and we have so much to be thankful for! I didn't take as many pics as I would've liked, but here are a few from the day.

Happy Halloween!

We had a fun Halloween with our family! We had lots of yummy food, a fire pit and of course tons of candy! Our plan was to take Miss Avery to a few of our neighbors' houses to trick or treat. Well, she wanted nothing to do with it! We made it to three houses and she was done. She was more interested in petting their doggies than getting candy. She did enjoy handing out candy to the other kids though! Maybe next year she'll understand the concept of FREE candy!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday. Mom, Dad, Luke and Melissa came over for a bbq. It was a gorgeous afternoon and we enjoyed sitting out on our deck! (we did eventually have to come in to catch the Cards game of course!)

Visit with Great Grandmas

A few weeks ago I took Avery to see my Grandmas...remember they both live in the same complex so we get to see both of them when we visit. Avery is always quite the entertainer! They get a kick out of just watching her, and she's sure to always ham it up for them!

Destin 2011-Part 1

A few weeks ago our family drove to Destin, Florida to spend a week at the beach! On our way to Destin we stopped in Memphis to visit Graceland. It was pouring down rain the whole time, but we still had fun! Johnny and his family had been before, but it was a first for Miss Avery and I. I actually enjoyed it and would like to go back because I felt like we rushed through since it was raining. We toured the mansion and ate at one of the restaurants. Avery even had a peanut butter and banana sandwich! Yum!

Next stop...Graceland!

It's surprising to see what was considered to be a mansion back then. I guess I was expecting it to be a mansion by today's standards and it was more like a normal two story house.

This Momma enjoyed a much needed Girls Night Out at the New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys concert! The girls and I had a BLAST!!! Lil' Bookworm

Avery LOVES books and this is her new favorite place to read them! She will grab a book and go sit in the floatie, it's hilarious!

Family Visit

A couple of weeks ago mom, Avery and I went out to my Aunt Rosemary's house to visit. My mom's cousins Donna and Rosie and her daughter Kelsey were in town visiting from California. My Aunt Patty, Uncle Kenny and Cousin David were there also. We had a great time visiting and Avery was the center of attention of course! We took Avery to a park to watch fireworks on the 4th of July. She loved them and kept clapping! So cute!

One Tough Cookie!

So we know our girl is becoming strong willed, but we learned she is also just STRONG! She loves to play in my jewelry armoire and open the draws to get out my "pretties" aka bracelets. She was in our bedroom playing with the "pretties" and I was in the kitchen getting her a snack. All of the sudden I hear a loud crash and her screaming. I run in to find the armoire knocked over! Miss Avery had pulled the whole thing over on top of her. Poor baby!!! I felt so bad! I think it scared her more than anything because she was fine in two seconds after I picked her up to console her and gave her some animal crackers. Nothing like emotional eating...ha! One of the drawers must have hit her under her eye because she had a bruise for a few days. Needless to say, the armoire is now nailed to the wall thanks to Daddy!
